Custom Tile Showers in Monmouth County, NJ

A custom shower should be built around the room, the water and the way you use it.

A custom shower is not just a different tile choice; it decides where water drains, where bottles go, where glass lands and how much room you have to stand.

SIG Tile builds custom tile showers in Monmouth County, with Renan handling the prep, waterproofing and tile installation.

What makes a tile shower custom

A tile shower is custom when the pan, entry, walls, storage and tile layout are planned for the specific bathroom. It is not a standard insert dressed up with nicer tile.

Renan plans shower tile, the pan slope, valve wall, glass line and any built-in details together. Shower niches and shower benches work best when they are included before waterproofing and layout are set.

How do tile choices change the build

Tile choices change the build because each material asks something different from the wall, floor and grout layout. Large-format porcelain needs flatter walls; mosaic works well on sloped floors but exposes poor sheet alignment.

Renan matches the tile to the room instead of forcing the room to obey a sample board. Large-format porcelain and mosaic tile can both be right for different parts of the same shower.

What comes before the custom look

Water control comes before the custom look. The shower still needs a sloped base, tied seams, protected corners and waterproofing behind the tile.

A failed existing shower may require tile removal or shower pan replacement before a new custom build. For the wet layer, see shower waterproofing and Schluter KERDI.

“Renan did my mom's bathroom shower tiles years ago (I think it's been about 3 years now) and it still looks great with no issues.”

Questions about this work

Can a custom shower include a bench and niche?

Yes, if both are planned into the waterproofing, support and tile layout from the beginning.

Can a custom shower be low-profile or curbless?

Sometimes. The floor structure, drain height and bathroom layout decide whether curbless or low-profile is realistic.

Can I buy the shower tile myself?

Yes. SIG Tile does not mark up tile you buy directly; Renan quotes the installation and needed prep, setting and waterproofing materials.

How long does a new shower take?

Most custom showers take 4 to 6 working days from prep through tile. Showers with more detail, like several niches, a bench or detailed patterns, can run closer to 8. Renan confirms your start date and schedule before work begins.
